My life began with family singalongs, my father on piano and accordion. My love affair with the piano began the moment Dad placed my small fingers in C major position and has never stopped! So after many years as a high school English teacher, I became a professional musician. I love being part of the San Francisco Bay Area music community, working with such talented people as Kathy Holly, Lua Hadar, Linda Kosut, Barry Lloyd, Tim Heitman, Rita Beach, Dave Austin, on and on.
For the past thirteen years I have been privileged to be a part of the Supper Club Six, produced by Kathy Holly, at the Villa d'Este Restaurant in San Francisco. During the pandemic, we continue doing free shows on Zoom first Monday of every month. See Calendar for a link to the show. I am also grateful that Society Cabaret continues its events virtually, while seeking a post-pandemic live venue!
I have so enjoyed performing in many other Bay Area music venues, such as The Sausalito Cruising Club, Martuni's, Society Cabaret, The Purple Onion, Max's of Burlingame, and many more. I entertained many guests at the beautiful Zingari Lounge for several years, and thoroughly enjoyed ongoing gigs at the SF Bistro Grill in San Francisco's Noe Valley. I have created and performed many themed shows for the Peninsula Jewish Community Center in Foster City...everything from Italian Favorites to Marlene Dietrich and Edith Piaf: A Friendship.
On the Music tab for this website you will find tracks from the two albums I recorded:
On Anything Can Happen in a Life I am singing all songs for which I wrote the words and the music, derived mostly from my own experience. On Notes of Nostalgia, I am singing some of my favorite standards and international songs. The great Barry Lloyd is my accompanist on both of these albums.
Until the pandemic, I had been regularly employed at a number of retirement communities and nursing homes, such as the Palo Alto Vi, the Sunrise Burlingame, The Magnolia of Millbrae, The Trousdale, Sterling Court, Peninsula Regent. It is a great joy and privilege to bring music to the residents and staff. My husband and I perform duet shows at private parties, and in senior communities. It is wonderful to share the musical aspect of our lives!
Now that we are fully vaccinated we are beginning to perform live once again!!!
